It seems like our 90's high school self was on to something, 'cuz gloss is making a comeback in biiig way this summer. From shiny lips to luxe lids, we show you three fab ways to add gloss to your makeup and help you shine.
LAYER IT ON LIPS
It’s time to break up with your mattes, because gloss is easier to use, feels better on lips, and makes them look more voluminous, too. Don’t apply it straight from the tube—instead, squeeze it onto your finger first, then tap it on until you get your desired level of sheen.
TRY: Natio Antioxidant Lip Shine Grace in Baby Pink, Rs. 850.
SWIPE IT ON CHEEKS
The texture reflects light the same way a powder or cream highlighter does, but never looks chalky on skin. “Just pat a tiny bit on the apples of your cheeks and blend it out toward your ears,” says Geo.
TRY: M·A·C Lipglass in Clear, Rs.1,600.
TAP IT ON EYES
Drop your brushes, palettes, and powders: glossy lids look just as fire as your go-to smoky eye (and take a quarter of the time). “Put a few dots above your lash line, then use your finger to blend it up towards the crease,” says US-based make-up artist Geo Brian Hennings.
TRY: Estée Lauder by Violette Eye Gloss in Sheer Scandal, Rs.2,100.
