Gone are the days jarring, cakey makeup made heads turn. With the rise of skin minimalism in the era of bare beauty, women are solely reaching out for the essentials—capping their makeup routine to just a few products that can help them achieve a lit-from-within glow, minus the excess. Bollywood, too, makes a strong case for this upcoming trend.
Actors, such as the graceful Yami Gautam, are making use of minimal products to highlight their best features. Essentially, giving weight to the phrase, 'less is more'. Recently, Yami was spotted sporting striking looks at Bhoot Police promotions. But apart from her fashion choices, what caught our eye was her simple yet elegant makeup. In one instance, she opted for a no-makeup makeup look that she chose to pair with a white and gold ensemble—ethereal, is the word.
To recreate this mesmerizing, au naturel makeup, Cosmo got in touch with Neha Seehra—the celebrity makeup artist behind Yami's recent looks—to do a beauty decode.
Prep and Prime
"To prep Yami's skin, I mixed a face oil with a moisturiser and gently massaged it into her skin. A facial massage boosts blood circulation and tones down any puffiness or dullness. Before beginning the makeup, I applied a matte sunscreen on her skin for sun protection. Next, I used an under-eye cream to help retain moisture and lock in the concealer when applied. The lips were also moistened with a hydrating lip balm."

A Lit-From-Within Glow
"I love a natural coverage and a hydrating concealer does the magic—you can blend it with your fingers if not a brush. The warmth of your fingers makes the product settle better, with a layer of foundation on top. I mixed the highlighter with a foundation and applied it evenly across the skin. Yami has naturally spotless skin, which doesn't require to be caked up."

Blush and Contour
"I used a liquid, cream blush for naturally flushed cheeks. Applying just the right amount of blush brings out a naturally flushed look on the skin. Plus, a bit of bronzer to give the face some definition."

Finishing Touch
"I used the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Foundation to set the foundation and under eyes. It beautifully settles on the skin without changing the colour of the base."

Eyes and Lips
"To add an oomph factor, I used a shimmery golden eyeshadow on the eyes along with cream eyeshadow and brown smudged eyeliner. We went nude on the lips by using my all-time favourite 'Pillow Talk' by Charlotte Tilbury."
