We spoke to a few experts to help you find your style:
Blue-tiful eyes
While blue shadows and liners are fun products to add to your vanity, you need to zero in on a base shade to suit you best.
“Classic Blue is a versatile shade that suits all skin tones but you need to blend it out with matching colours that are suited for your complexion. If your skin has cool undertones, you can use blue by itself or blend it out with greys and other cool shades. Warm undertones can pair it with toasty colours such as beige, browns or warmer pinks,” says Shagun Gupta, bridal makeup artist.
Well-known for adding a pop of blue on the eyes, Shagun advises opting for a glitter blue eyeliner for a party eyeliner or even using a blue mascara. “Classic Blue looks great as a mascara by itself for a minimalism-loving girl. It just gives a hint of drama and still keeping it simple. If you want go a little bolder you could just apply a blue mascara with a blue or black eyeliner looks great,” she says.
Another option is to pair your regular smokey eyes with a blue lower lid.
Pops of blue
This dark hue on your lips is definitely not for the faint hearted. The key to acing this look is keeping your face neutral sans any bold colours.
“Perhaps the boldest and smartest way to carry the trend, a blue lipstick certainly isn't for shrinking violets. But it's the best way to show dedication to the trend and can really work at special occasions when paired with neutral eyes. It's also a sure-fire hit during festival season,” says Shraddha.
Here are her picks of ways to wear classic blue like a pro:
Nail Polish: Possibly the easiest way to wear classic blue without going too out there, a subtle yet effective nod to this year's chosen colour.
Hair dye: Feeling extra brave? Show your commitment to all things classic blue by taking things up a notch with a blue hair dye. Just be sure to do a patch test first to check out the colour prior to taking the plunge!
Now, all you need to tone down everything else and turn up the blue!
