Chrissy Teigen is our favourite new mum. Not only is she keen to post photos of her and husband John Legend's ADORABLE baby,Luna, but she's also being refreshingly honest about the weird shit that happens to your body after you've given birth.
That's right – it's not all fun times. Apparently your body has to deal with a ton of crazy stuff after you welcome your little one.
Model Chrissy took to Twitter to express her dismay at having to purchase a perineal irrigation bottle. Sounds exciting, right? WRONG!
A perineal irrigation bottle is used after a woman has given birth vaginally to squirt water on her lady zone to clean herself after she's been for a wee because toilet roll can be too painful.
Nancy Herta, M.D., a specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology at Michigan State University, told SELF: "If you have any kind of tear when you have a baby, it burns horribly when you urinate. As you urinate, you squirt warm water to dilute it so that it doesn't hurt as much."
Apparently it's also a good idea to irrigate your perineum (who knew I'd be writing that sentence today…) because it softens stitches, if that's something you're having to deal with too.
Maybe we should take another look at baby Luna to remind us that babies are totally worth all the crummy stuff that comes with giving birth…
This isn't the first time Chrissy has been hilariously honest about childbirth. She also wanted to let us know about her big, adult nappies.
