Katrina Kaif Reveals What Exactly She Does to Look THIS Good

Bollywood's very own fitness buff, actor Katrina Kaif, is on a new high and that's not only from the adrenalin rush from her latest workout. The actor's last four films crossed the Rs 100-crore mark globally and she will be seen next in Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi opposite Akshay Kumar—the teaser has already received one million views on Instagram in just a fortnight of its release.

For Katrina, films and fitness go hand in hand. Now, the brand ambassador for Reebok tells Cosmo, “There’s no set routine, really—it keeps changing according to the target I’ve set for myself at that particular time. But the primary deciding factor for it is always my films. Like, for Bharat, my character needed a very natural-looking physique, not someone who goes to the gym. So, I switched to pilates and yoga. Otherwise, when not training for a goal, I like to take it easy, relax, and not push my body too much. If I have any stage shows or photoshoots in the middle, I touch base again with functional training, weights, plyometric exercises, etc. But, if left to my own devices, I’d only swim. I love swimming!”

Here are 3 tips you can steal from her fitness regime:

Choose your burn

Even as videos of actor's Pilates sessions with fitness expert Yasmin Karachiwala are #MondayMotivation for the netizens, for Kaif, the workouts are more than just a way to get a hot bod. For starters, there is more than one way to get toned. So, choose the activity that suits you the best and then,  keep switching it up to make sure you don't get bored with the routine.

“Fitness, through yoga, dance, and other physical activities, is a big part of my life. This was a good chance to team up with a brand that has a similar vision as me, and that also offers me a platform to open up conversations about women’s bodies, fitness, the training we need at different times of our lives, and so much more,” says Katrina, who is also the latest face of an athletics brand.

Take time out

Hitting the gym just to flex on social media is not really being healthy. #GymLife or #fitspo, anyone?

Well, you can take it from Katrina to go on a social media detox. Turns out the star has not been checking out your envious comments on her Pilates session video with Yasmin Karachiwala!

“I don’t read comments...like at all! And I spend very limited time on it, only what’s absolutely necessary—choosing the photograph(s), captions—about 15 minutes. Sometimes, I like to see what my friends are up to, but even then, it’s controlled. And I like to keep my content in real time—I don’t like posting stuff that’s old. For me, it’s a platform to share what I like, not a place to be competitive, for Likes, Followers, and all,” says Katrina.

Rest a while and run a mile

While it is important to have a disciplined lifestyle, take care to not go overboard with your 'clean living' phase. Everyone is allowed a cheat-day now and then, so, make sure you make the most of it. Katrina agrees, “I read something interesting recently: ‘Strive for progress, not perfection’. It is so important! We get so distracted trying to achieve the perfection that we don’t allow ourselves to keep moving. You have to keep moving forward...even if it is slowly, you have to keep going, in the right direction, at a steady pace.”
