The Secrets Your Face Shape Can Reveal About You

What is the first thing that you notice in a person? The eyes, the way their lips move when they talk or their hair…do you ever notice the shape of their face? It is easy to miss it as most do not have a distinct face shape (it could be a mix of square and long or oval and heart). But did you know that the face is a big talker? It can give you a sneak peek into a person’s personality. Jean Haner an expert in face reading and author of The Wisdom of Your Face, tells you what the most common face shapes say about you based on her studies in 3,000-year-old face reading techniques derived from Chinese medicine.

Round face shape:  A round face shape is characterized by a wide hairline and are generally widest at the cheekbones. If you have this face shape it means you are a kind and giving person and you tend to put others before you. However, since you are an over giver it means you may not get back as much and this could lead to disappointment. 

Rectangular Face Shape: This is one of the most common face shapes. The forehead and the jaw are symmetrically squarish and the face is longer than usual. If you have this face shape then you are logical in your approach and you are a good thinker. But beware of overthinking. You are good at planning but don’t often reveal your feelings.

Diamond Face Shape: Think of a diamond, the face is wide in the middle, and pointed toward the forehead and chin. Usually people with this face shape are believed to like to be in control of things. “They’re also very detail-oriented and because of that, they produce quality work,” says Jean.

Oval Face Shape: If you have this face shape then chances are you quite popular among your friends and acquaintances. This kind of face is longer than wide and is characterised by wide cheek bones and a narrow jaw. A person with an oval face shape knows all the right things to say and can make anyone feel welcome and comfortable.

Heart Face Shape: Anyone with a heart shape face has a wider forehead and a narrower chin. According to Jean these people have “incredible inner strength but can also be stubborn” as they are strong-minded. They also have a strong intuition and often make the right moves.
