Days before stepping into 2022—and the unforeseen spike in coronavirus cases—the paparazzi at the Mumbai airport caught a glimpse of rumoured star couples, all set to jet off to domestic and international destinations.
Besides A-listers Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, the other two rumoured duos haven't confirmed their courtship. However, as per our intel (AKA, Instagram), we have reason to believe that they 'safari-ed' their way into the new year, together. Here are subtle clues they dropped on their social media—videos and pictures from their wild excursion—that validate our theory.
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor's African Safari
Reportedly, the lovebirds took a trip across continents to welcome the new year. On 1st January 2022, Alia Bhatt took to Instagram to share a photo dump from her vacation and wrote, "giving 2022 some Hakuna Matata energy." A couple of days later, Danish author Lisa Christoffersen shared an unseen photograph with the couple on her social media handle. It is believed that the duo took a safari trip in the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya, Africa.

The two newbies in the industry did their first film together, Khaali Peeli, in 2020. Then on, rumours regarding their relationship began doing the rounds. That said, we're unaware whether there is any truth to these speculations since neither has confirmed that they are dating. A few days ago, the paps spotted the duo at the airport, assumably returning from their trip to the Ranthambore National Park in Rajasthan. Both Ananya and Ishaan also took to Instagram to share glimpses from their vacation, however, the series of pictures didn't feature them together.

Believe it or not, this rumoured couple also reportedly made their way to the Ranthambore National Park to celebrate the new year. The spectacular pair was last seen together in the blockbuster, biographical-war film, Shershaah, and speculations regarding their relationship have been doing the rounds ever since. If rumours are to be believed, last year, Kiara and Sidharth jetted off to Africa to ring in the new year together, posting solo—yet similar—pictures. On Kiara's Instagram photo dump from her Ranthambore trip, Ananya commented, "Where’s my fave??? The sloth bear."
