"Our Baby...Coming Soon": Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor Announce Their First Pregnancy

Congratulations are in order for Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, who have announced that they're expecting their first baby together! The 29-year-old star took to Instagram to share the news with the world—sending the internet into a major frenzy. "Our baby…..coming soon," penned the celebrity on her post, featuring Ranbir sitting alongside her as they share a smile peering into the sonography screen. The good news comes nearly three months after the in-love couple tied the knot at their home in Mumbai, surrounded by a close-knit group of family and friends. 

The power couple is all set to share the screen—for the first time—in Dharma Productions' Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva, releasing on 9th September this year. As their release date nears, many are speculating that the pregnancy announcement is perhaps, nothing but a promotional gimmick. However, the slew of congratulatory comments on the actor's Instagram post has us thinking otherwise. Alia's mommy, Soni Razdan, commented on the post, "Congratulations Mama and Papa lion," referring to the second picture in the series featuring a lion family. From Priyanka Chopra to Gal Gadot, all of tinsel town wished the couple love and luck for their exciting new journey ahead. 

Mentor cum father-figure Karan Johar—expectedly overwhelmed with emotion—took to his Instagram Story to express his joy. "My baby is going to be a mother! I can't express my feeling...so so so excited! Love you both." Ranbir's sister, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, too, congratulated the expectant couple and wrote, "My babies are having a baby. I love you both so much." After years of discreet dating, the dynamic duo took the plunge on 14th April 2022, tying the knot on the terrace of their Bandra home. For the intimate ceremony that saw the likes of Kareena Kapoor and Akansha Ranjan Kapoor and others, the celebrity couple donned pristine ivory Sabyasachi ensembles—offering respite from bridal reds and blush pinks. 

While the pair haven't revealed their due date as yet, we can expect baby Kapoor-Bhatt end of this year, or perhaps, early into 2023!
