Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar's Wedding Was Straight Out of a Fairytale

Congratulations are in order for Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar, who are the latest celebrity couple to enter the 'just-married' club. After dating for over four years, the longtime lovers said "I do" on 19th February, at Javed Akhtar's Khandala farmhouse; a private affair with only close friends and family in attendance. A few so-called candid photographs, memorable toasts, and an exchange of vows later say hello to Mr and Mrs Akhtar.

While the hush-hush ceremony took place a few days ago, the newlyweds chose to keep the wedding under wraps until today, when Farhan took to Instagram to release never-seen-before photographs and wrote, "The celebration, however, is incomplete without sharing some precious moments with you and seeking your blessings as we begin our journey across the skies of time, together."

Grinning from ear to ear, the duo looked oh-so-happy and oh-so-in-love! Farhan and Shibani's close friends from the film fraternity, including Hrithik Roshan, Farah Khan, Rhea Chakraborty, Amrita Arora, Saqib Saleem, and more, were also present to celebrate with the pair. The pre-wedding festivities, such as the mehendi and sangeet ceremony, were held at the actor's residence in Mumbai.

A couple of days ago, videos from the dreamy affair were leaked all over social media, featuring the groom and his Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara co-star grooving to the hit number 'Señorita'. Music composer and singer Shankar Mahadevan also performed at the glorious affair, lending his voice to the Dil Chahta Hai title track, which marked Farhan's directorial debut in the industry.

Farhan's daughters', Shakya and Akira, were also present to support their father on the big day, alongside his sister Zoya Akhtar, and their mother Honey Irani. Shibani, on the other hand, was engulfed by her entourage of bridesmaids, which included her sister Anusha Dandekar. She was walked down the aisle by her father Shashidhar Dandekar, and was clicked dancing with her mother Sulabha.

By no means was Shibani the conventional bride; on the day, she donned a JADE by Monica and Karishma creation—a modern corset and skirt with a veil handcrafted from French Chantilly Lace in bridal red. To  complement his bride-to-be, Farhan threw on a dapper black suit with a bowtie. (Here's a decode of Shibani's out-of-the-box bridal gown by couturier Monica Shah)

The wedding décor featured extravagant floral arrangements, earthy notes, and striking suspended chandeliers. The ceremony was officiated and the couple exchanged vows under a gorgeous floral wedding archway. Farhan and Shibani met on the sets of a reality television show, I Can Do That, back in 2015. Loved blossomed in 2018, and the two have been in a relationship ever since.

Isn't their wedding album straight out of a fairytale?
