Here's a List of the 10 Most-Googled Indian Celebrities in 2019
We bring you the deets on who had everyone buzzin' in the year that was.
The year 2019 is coming to an end, and a LOT has happened. For those of you who have cleared your browser search histories, we thought we should do a quick refresh courtesy the peeps at Google. As per their yearly tradition, Google India has released its annual Year In Search report, with one section listing out the most-searched Indian Celebrities of 2019. Blockbuster films, B-town debutants, and some cause célèbre, here's exactly who made the top 10 list.
1. Akshay Kumar
A super- hit movie (Kesari), interview with the prime minister and the 4th spot on the Forbes highest-paid list, Akshay Kumar has had quite the year, and it seems like errryone is talking about (and searching about) him.
2. Amitabh Bachchan
77 years old and going super-strong! Amitabh was one of the most tweeted and retweeted celebrities in India in 2019, bringing him in at number two.
3. Hrithik Roshan
Two hit movies, and being voted The Sexiest Asian man, Hrithik has been owning 2019, and it seems like we cannot get enough of him (and Googling him).
4. Tiger Shroff
People can't seem to get enough of his dancing, his movies and his abs. Featuring 4th on The Sexiest Asian Man list (on which Hrithik bagged the number 1 spot), it's clear that Tiger Shroff's star is rising.
5. Sara Ali Khan
Two films old, with and with many more in the pipeline, Sara Ali Khan made her debut with a bang. Her alleged relationship with Kartik Aryaan (who makes an appearance later on our list ) got people talking about (and Googling) Sara all of last year.
6. Shahid Kapoor
The movie Kabir Singh was all anybody was talking about all through June and July. Despite some of the negative feedback the film received, it became the second highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2019.
7.Kiara Advani
Right next to Shahid is his Kabir Singh co-star Kiara Advani. The box-office success and the controversies that followed the film put her on the trending list as well.
8. Kartik Aryan
It's been quite a year for Kartik. Two film releases, some conjecture surrounding misogynistic roles and alleged relationships, and all-around adoration from female fans have him joining the list at number eight.
9. Kangana Ranaut
A super-hit film (Manikarnika), critical acclaim and a verbal altercation with a journalist, everyone was talking about Kangana this year (yet again).
10. Vicky Kaushal
The buzz on the streets about Vicky's acting chops was only proved right with his performance in URI, which won him a National Award, and made him the 10th most Googled Indian celebrity of 2019.
