Inside Sonam Kapoor's Elegant, Enchanted Garden-Themed Baby Shower

Congratulations are in order for Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja, who are all set to welcome their first child together. Yesterday, the 37-year-old—who is currently in her third trimester—took to Instagram to share glimpses of her intimate baby shower held in London. The actor's closest friends, and a few family members, were in attendance to celebrate the impending birth of her newborn; here's a look inside the elegant, garden-themed soirée, featuring personalised details and abundant fresh flowers. 

 

 

On the day, the star slipped into an off-duty, pleated pink gown with cape sleeves by designer Emilia Wickstead. She accessorised her fuss-free look with a red mini bag, gold-plated earrings, and a gilded necklace and ring. British-Pakistani singer Leo Kalyan—who prefers the pronouns he/she/they—was also invited to perform at the shower. "A spice girl in Bollywood. I just performed at Sonam Kapoor's baby shower. What is life?" the artist penned in an Instagram post, standing alongside the mum-to-be. 

 

 

Hosted by Eiesha Bharti Pasricha in her Notting Hill home—daughter of telecom tycoon Sunil Bharti Mittal—the customised, hand-written menus, hand-painted tablecloths, and a plethora of fragrant fresh flowers spruced up the space. Besides, guests didn't leave empty-handed; each took home a potli along with a personally branded handmade necklace. While these memories shall last a lifetime, it was an act of kindness that made the occasion all the more special. On the day, Sonam and her family donated lactogen milk cartons to a charitable orphanage called 'Welfare Home for Children'.

 

 

 

The couple announced their pregnancy back in March via a series of intimate portraits. "Four hands, to raise you the very best we can. Two hearts, that will beat in unison with yours, every step of the way. One family, who will shower you with love and support. We can’t wait to welcome you," the parents-to-be wrote in a heartwarming social media post.
