Margot Robbie's see-through corset gown brings all the drama

There's no denying that 2023 will go down in history as a year that was absolutely dominated by the Barbiecore trend. With the much-anticipated release of Greta Gerwig's iconic film, plus the endless hot pink carpets and press tours in the lead-up to it, fuchsia was absolutely everywhere. And as the protagonist of Barbie, no one took the super-girly, all-pink-everything, high-glam brief more seriously than Margot Robbie.

From her *gorge* custom Vivienne Westwood dress for the film's London premiere (which referenced a vintage 1960 Enchanted Evening Barbie doll) to dressing up as a cowgirl (and astronaut, and roller girl, and business exec) for American Vogue, the actress seriously nailed the brief—over and over and over again. Talk about getting into character!

But Robbie's latest red carpet appearance is all the proof we need that the Barbie era is officially over. Yep, 2024 is just around a corner, and with it a whole new set of trends and fashion vibes to get on board with.

Leaving her powder pink days firmly behind her, Robbie channeled a decidedly darker and sexier aesthetic to attend the Los Angeles premiere of Saltburn. Styled by Andrew Mukamal, she looked absolutely incredible in a black Schiaparelli gown from the AW23 Couture collection featuring a see-through boned corset and dramatic suede skirt with a playfully unbuttoned, folded-over waistline. Simply stunning.

And to keep all eyes on the prize (*that* dress, obvs), she kept the rest to a minimum, completing the look with just a gold choker necklace, soft waves in her hair, and pared-back make-up.

The main takeaway? Black is the new pink, and sexy is the new girly. You heard it here first!
