The 94th Academy Awards are here, just in time to celebrate the best in film! Kickstarting the celebrations, Hollywood’s biggest night of the year saw Amy Schumer, Regina Hall, and Wanda Sykes as the first all-female trio to host the ceremony, along with plenty of star-studded moments and big wins throughout the event.
The night included historic wins for CODA, the first film from a streamer to win the marquee prize for Best Picture. Oscars 2022 for Best Actor went to Will Smith for his marvelous performance in 'King Richard' while Jessica Chastain took home the Oscar for 'Best Actress in Leading Role' for 'The Eyes of Tammy Faye'. Moreover, Ariana DeBose marked her name in Academy Award's history by becoming the first Afro-Latina, openly queer actor of colour to win the award for 'Best Supporting Actress' for her performance in 'West Side Story'. Onward, The Power of the Dog led the pack with nominations this year, with 12 total nods. Close behind was Dune with 10, and Belfast and West Side Story tied with seven apiece.
