Huma Qureshi, who’s performance in the new Netflix movie the Army of the Dead has received much accolade, shares a warm and classy home with younger sibling actor Saqib Saleem in Mumbai. Their sunlit, spacious apartment that’s been mostly done up by Huma is a beautiful blend of muted colours, Mughal-inspired floral wallpapers and antique furniture, different textures and quirky curios. As Huma confesses in an episode of Asian Paints Where The Heart is Season 3 that she is artsy and her tastes are reflected in the interiors of her home. From the distressed furniture, lending a lived in look to the colourful rugs and cushions to the interesting decor pieces picked by her give numerous clues into her personality.
The living room has been thoughtfully dotted with couches in muted solids to offset the bright wallpaper. The family wall where Huma has put up photos of her parents, grandparents, her brother and her’s, lend an inviting homely feel to the space.
The most interesting part of her home is the dining area, which she describes as “the heart of the home”, where a wooden table teamed with eclectic mismatched chairs—rugged, vintage, wood, metal or colourful—lend a unique vibe to the space.
However, both Huma and Saqib concede that their favourite space is the open terrace where Saqib works out, practises boxing every evening and Huma uses the space for sipping her morning cuppa and do her dance rehearsals. The siblings have also carved out their individual spaces—Huma has a cosy reading corner to herself and Saqib has his own private den replete with a deep brown L-shaped couch and a leather lounge chair, where he indulges in movie-watching and PlayStation marathons.
