Why wasn’t Travis Kelce at the Grammys cheering for Taylor Swift?

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are officially Instagram’s favourite romance of 2024. After months of speculation, the couple confirmed their relationship with their first public appearance in October 2023, as they walked hand in hand for a Saturday Night Live after-party. They're both at the top of their game, passionate about work, and have solid personalities. Their love almost feels like that of high school sweethearts, something Swifties are familiar with, courtesy of the singer's music videos that made us slowly fall in love.

Recently, Swift made history as she became the first artist to win the Album of the Year award four times at Grammys. Even for someone who has achieved so much success in the past few years for her musical talent, this is a big moment! Of course, the fans expected Kelce to be there, cheering for Swift like she has been for him, at his matches. However, his absence at the Grammy's sparked questions. And, in case you're one of the many, wondering why the NFL player skipped the awards night, here's what we know.

Turns out, Kelce was gearing up for his big match between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers, while Swift was gearing up to grab another Grammy for her latest album, Midnights. 

Kelce confirmed absence before the Grammys stating that he wouldn't be able to join Swift as she receives her award. Later last week, Kelce appeared on The Pat McAfee Show, where he confessed that he wanted to go, but had to gear up for practice for the finals. While not there in person, we're sure Kelce was with our favourite pop star in true spirit! 

The couple has been each other's biggest cheerleaders. The internet believes Swift is better at cheerleading and we agree. The woman is the best hype woman you can ask for in your life, even though she is a total main character herself! 

Earlier this month, one of the couple's cutest moments turned into a viral meme as they celebrated Kelce’s big victory with the Kansas City Chiefs defeating the Baltimore Ravens in Sunday’s AFC Championship game, advancing to Super Bowl 2024. Right after the match, Swift swirled straight into Kelce’s arms in celebration.
