We Really Hope Deepika Padukone's Wax Statue is Better Than Her Boyfriend Ranveer Singh's!

In a Facebook Live session and via her various social media channels, Deepika Padukone announced the BIG news — the  unveiling of her wax statue next year at the prestigious Madama Tussauds. Needless to say, fans are excited and can't wait to see how the wax make of this drop-dead gorgeous actor will turn out to be. 'Cos let's face it, there is a past record of disastrous waxworks that could give anybody nightmares. No, we're not exaggerating.

Which takes us back to July last year, when the Grévin Museum in Paris decided to honour Ranveer Singh—who had spent a significant time in the city shooting for Befikre—with a wax statue as his birthday gift. However, the honour went on to become fodder to the trolls, who couldn't help but throw light on the fact that the absolute disaster of a wax statue looked like every celeb, but Ranveer Singh!

Madame Tussauds London will unveil Deepika's statue early next year, and she will be included with Hollywood A-listers, her statue placed along the likes of actors like Helen Mirren. When asked whom she’d like her statue to be placed next to, she said,

“I think near fun people so that we can have our own little party there. But I think just to be part of this legacy of people who have achieved so much in life is exciting enough.”

It’s all about the details ??

We have seen many celebrity waxworks modelled after their iconic movie avatars, and can't help but wonder what will be draped on DP's statue. On being asked the same, the actor said,

“I think it will be something that represents India, because those are my roots, that’s my culture, that’s where I come from, but at the same time something that’s relatable to a global audience.”

Talking about her first memory of buying a ticket to visit the popular museum in London, Deepika went down the memory lane and said,

"The only time I visited Madame Tussauds was in London when I was very little with my parents. That memory has sort of stayed with me, obviously. And then to receive a letter and now to be a part of that, and to actually experience what goes into making these wax figures. I think Madame Tussauds is so iconic in so many ways, so it’s really special."

What's more, soon after Deepika, her Padmaavat co-star Shahid Kapoor announced on his Instagram that he, too, is following suit and has been approached by the prestigious museum.

Keep an eye out. Coming soon.
