Virat Kohli Just Reacted to Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul's Offensive Comments

The captain of the Indian Cricket team speaks out about the controversial Koffee with Karan episode.

As we all know, the internet has exploded with outrage after the appearance of Indian Cricketers Hardik Pandya and Kl Rahul on Koffee with Karan season 6.

The main reason for this has been the misogynistic, sexist, and offensive comments made by the two during the show, especially the rapid fire round. So much so, that the makers of the show have pulled the episode off the air and BCCI has sent show cause notices to the two cricketers and asked them to give an explanation. There are even talks of a ban on cricketers from appearing on any non cricket shows at all! That's right, sh*t just got real, pretty quick! Here are some of the ways in which people have reacted.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli (captain of the team and Anushka's hubby) has distanced the Indian cricket team from the controversy. At a press conference, when asked about the same, Virat had this to say, “I can definitely say that as the Indian cricket team and responsible cricketers we definitely don’t align with those views and those are purely individual views.” Virat also said that how the team doesn’t support any kind of comments made by the two cricketers on the chat show. “From the Indian cricket team point of view, any inappropriate comments that are made in that scenario are something that we definitely don’t support and the two concerned players felt what has gone wrong and they have understood the magnitude of what’s happened."

He further added, “From the Indian cricket team's point of view, this changes nothing in our beliefs in the change room, it does nothing to the spirit we have been able to create.” Hardik Pandya meanwhile, took to Twitter and issued the following apology as well.

Looks like it's going to be a while before anyone forgets about what happened on the show, doesn't it? We sure hope it doesn't affect the performance of the team in anyway, fingers crossed.
