The Surprising Way to Keep Your Expensive Bags Looking Fresh

These simple DIY tricks will give your arm-candy the TLC it deserves.

My fascination for leather accessories started early. Growing up seeing the mother and grandmother wearing coordinating bags and shoes with their Sarees was very amusing. Over the years I have been collecting leather bags, belts, shoes from my favourite labels, both new and vintage. As beautiful as they are delicate, I soon realised a little TLC goes a long way to ensure your leather does not dry out. What started off as a fun DIY experiment soon became a favourite hack. So here it goes - Use the mildest and ideally natural, cleansing wipes to gently clean out any dirt. Wipe with a clean white rag. Natural oils and baby creams make great conditioners. Dab some cream (or organic olive oil) and gently work it into the leather. Wipe away any excess residue with the white rag. Do this often to keep your leather valuables soft, supple and looking brand new!
