6 home-grown labels that will bring summer vacay vibes right to your wardrobe

We’ll admit, deciding what to wear on a holiday is one of the best parts. While choosing vacation wear, easy cuts and fabrics we can breathe in (and those that hide our food babies!), vibrant shades, and fanciful patterns win big. And a growing crop of home-grown labels, with their fantastical collections made to frolic in, give a taste of just that.

Cosmopolitan India curated a list of the six we will be tucking into our holiday bags this season.

Happi Space

Happi Space

Outfits by Happi Space will make you feel, well, happy! Pack some joy for your next summer adventure with their breathable and beautiful range in quirky prints—everything from paint splatters and cute doodles, to picnic blanket-inspired checks find their way onto the clothing. Conceptualised in the summer of 2020 by designer Jhalak Mittal and spotted on celebs like Alia Bhatt, the brand has a wide range of dresses, jumpsuits, separates, co-ord sets, and more for you to choose from.
We love: Kyoto Co-Ord Set Full in Green Abstract Print, ₹6,990

Malie

Malie

One of the more minimal labels on the list, Malie is less about over-the-top prints (only two of their dresses feature a botanical-inspired print) and more about bold colours in classic cuts that will catch your eye. Founded in 2021, the New Delhi-based womenswear brand offers a range of dresses, tops, bottoms, and more. Expect off-shoulder billowing maxis, short frilly dresses, and chic pants and skirts that will fit right into your European vacation plans. Plus, they are crafted using handloom woven fabrics, meaning they are eco-conscious too!
We love: Paloma Dress, ₹35,000

Fancy Pastels

Fancy Pastels

This is another home-grown brand that deserves a spot in your holiday lookbook—its playful patterns in easy-going silhouettes scream fun! Founded in 2017, the label uses traditional Rajasthani techniques like block printing and hand-painting, and gives them a contemporary spin that we can’t get enough of. From flowy dresses in vibrant shades, trending co-ord sets, to voluminous kaftans in fun prints like French fries, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
We love: Alisha Co-Ord Set, ₹6,400

Essgee

Essegee

If your idea of holiday wear is casual chic, then browse through Essgee’s collection that is decidedly Bohemian and crafted with natural fabrics like linen, silk, and cotton. Launched by Sagrika Grover in 2016, the brand’s motto is to redefine what Bohemian resort wear can be. Shop their extensive edit of dresses, shirts, pants, skirts, cover-ups, and more. If you’re looking to add to your swimsuit collection, they have a fun range to pick from.
We love: Zeta Cape Gown—Amber, ₹18,500

Drawn

Drawn

Born during the pandemic, Drawn is a ready-to-wear independent fashion brand that wants to add fun and joy to the act of dressing. Their whimsical collections are all about drama—think unique colour accents, larger-than-life sleeves, big ruffles, and more. The brand is known for teaming up with artists, so each of their collections is small and one-of-a-kind, much like collectible art. For their latest collection called ‘A Sweet Escape’, the brand has collaborated with artists Cecilia Carlstedt and Lekha Shastry.
We love: Wild Iris Big Little Dress, ₹8,990

Summer Somewhere

Summer Somewhere

The Mumbai-based brand aims to design clothes for your next holiday, and their collections are testament to their motto—their breezy dresses in romantic, timeless silhouettes and floral prints will instantly transport you to a sunny afternoon in Tuscany. Made with locally-sourced fabric, the outfits are perfect for every occasion—be it going for a solo walk on the beach or going out with your friends in a new city. We think their dresses are a staple in your holiday wardrobe, for sure!
We love: Venice Dress, ₹5,790
