From game-changing collabs to surprise store launches and bittersweet goodbyes, the fashion world has been busy. Onitsuka Tiger and Astro Boy are back with another drop, Maje is finally making its way to Mumbai, and D’YAVOL X just pulled off another sellout collection. Meanwhile, Louis Vuitton is bringing back a Y2K favourite, and Y/Project is officially calling it quits. Here’s everything you need to know.
Oh this? Just the coolest new launch
Didn’t think you’d live to see another Onitsuka Tiger and anime series Astro Boy collab? Wrong! The two—we know the word ‘icon’ is used way too often, but icons—are back with their second drop, and dare we say, it’s better than its predecessor. The collection reimagines Astro Boy’s red boots in Onitsuka Tiger’s signature yellow. What’s more, the collection has graphic tees, distressed hoodies, sweatshirts, and accessories with Astro Boy details and Tiger Yellow accents.
Mumbai, meet Maje
A little birdie told us that the Parisian fashion brand, which was founded in 1998 by Judith Milgrom, is set to launch its first store in India at Jio World Drive, Mumbai. And the best part? Its SS25 collection will be dropping in-store too! While talking about the launch, Milgrom shared, “This store represents our opportunity to connect with the Indian audience, where fashion is not just a style statement but a way to express individuality. We look forward to celebrating the spirit of India and offering women here the Maje experience.” So, if you’re ready to add some je ne sais quoi to your wardrobe, we’ll see you there!
The drop that had everyone talking
Luxury fashion brand D’YAVOL X has had quite a year—just check out any of their collections. Founded by Shah Rukh Khan, Leti Blagoeva, Aryan Khan, and Bunty Singh, the brand’s latest drop, X3, was a massive hit—we’re talking sold out in just over 48 hours! The collection featured their signature suede jacket alongside exclusive tees, hoodies, and pants. And oh, they also do caps now, FYI. Aryan Khan couldn’t be prouder, saying, “The success of the X3 collection speaks volumes about the bond our customers share with D’YAVOL X. We’re already working on what’s next, and we promise to keep raising the bar.”
Fair warning: you will be obsessed
Who here is old enough to remember the era-defining collaboration of 2003 between Louis Vuitton and Takashi Murakami? If not, no worries—you’re in luck! To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the French luxury brand and Japanese artist are reintroducing the iconic collection with over 200 reimagined pieces. This edition honours the original but with a blend of artistry, craftsmanship, and innovation. And the cherry on top? Zendaya as the face of the campaign. Consider us officially sold on this gorgeous drop!
End of an era
Sorry, the Paris-based fashion house Y/Project can’t come to the phone right now. Why? They’re officially out of business after 14 years. In a statement to WWD, the brand shared, “After 14 fruitful years, Y/Project has made the challenging decision to stop operations.”
For those who’ve been following the brand closely, the news wasn’t surprising—the brand had been looking for a potential buyer after the departure of its creative director Glenn Martens in September 2024 and the death of co-founder Gilles Elalouf. Under the creative leadership of Martens since 2013, the brand thrived and won the ANDAM Grand Prize in 2017, and was shortlisted for the 2016 LVMH Prize for Young Designers. But the good news is that we will be seeing more of Martens, as he’s been appointed the creative director of French luxury fashion label Maison Margiela, filling in the very big shoes left by John Galliano.
