The First Look of Zoya Akhtar's 'The Archies' is Out Now

Loved Riverdale? Gear up for a fresh new Netflix adaptation of the world of Archie Andrews starring Agastya Nanda, Suhana Khan, and Khushi Kapoor in lead roles.

After months of anticipation, the first, sepia-toned, dog-eared look at the new Archie’s is out and it leaps right off the pages of a vintage comic book! Helmed by Zoya Akhtar, this live-action musical is set in 1960s India, and the first-look teaser and poster of the film are soaked in nostalgia. The film also marks the acting debut of - Suhana Khan as Veronica, Khushi Kapoor as Betty, and Agastya Nanda as Archie, along with Mihir Ahuja, Dot, Vedang Raina, and Yuvraj Menda, in the lead roles.

A musical experience bursting with youth, rebellion, friendships, first loves, and everything young adult, it still promises to have something for every generation. The film has the iconic gang of 'The Archies’ at the center of it, and perfectly matches the youthful energy, hope, and excitement of the sixties era. On Saturday, May 14, the official Instagram handle of Netflix India shared the first-look poster of The Archies film. "Grab your picnic baskets and pick out your cutest outfits, we're going to greet Archie’s gang! Presenting the cast of THE ARCHIES, a Zoya Akhtar film."

The adventures of Archie Andrews and his squad including Veronica, Betty, Jughead, and Reggie, have been immortalized by several adaptions of films and cartoon series. The character Archie Andrews first appeared in the Pep Comics and gained insane popularity as a standalone character in pop culture. We would love to see what the Indian adaptation of the series has in store.
