Sex is in the air: A beginner’s guide to the mile-high club

I have always been fascinated by the idea of having a steamy, hot sex sesh on a flight. There's an inexplicable thrill to it—whether it's the compact space, the underlying excitement of being all hushed about it, or knowing that everyone around you has an inkling of what the two of us were up to. I want to be a member of the mile-high club. What exactly is it ? MileHighClub.com defines it as “two people engaging in sexual activity… at an altitude of no less than 5,280 feet (a mile high above the earth) in an airplane.”

We tell you how to do it and the things to take note of.

Choosing an airline and flight time

Choose an airline that has more than one aisle on its planes. Single-aisled aircraft are cramped, and there’s every chance there will be a long queue. With another aisle, there’s less chance of people noticing you and your partner.

It’s easier if you’re flying at night as most passengers are asleep and restrooms are cleaner than other times of the day.

It’s all about getting the timing right

The perfect time to get down and dirty on the flight is when lights have been dimmed and everyone has had their fair share of booze. Plus, the crew would either be on their break or may have to serve fewer people at that hour.

Be cautious when entering and exiting the restroom

Go one at a time. As far as the entry is concerned, the first person should lock the door and wait for the second. The person outside goes in after a minute or a signal from the person inside. If you're caught, just say that one of you was feeling ill and that's what all the noise was about.

Make it quick

Anything above 10 minutes will raise suspicion; so, ace your quickie game. Remember, the crew can open the door from outside, and you really don’t want to be on the other side at that point. Also, a majority of these restrooms are not soundproof; so be fast, be quiet.
