All the times Greta Thunberg's savage responses exhibited true Gen Z wit

Recently, Greta Thunberg gave a fitting reply to misogynist and human trafficking-accused, Andrew Tate. That eventually got him so riled up that he shared a video, which helped the cops locate him and arrest him for human trafficking. He is accused of holding two girls captive with him, against their will.

In 2018, Greta Thunberg began a global movement by skipping school to work for climate change. At just 15 she was camped out in front of the Swedish Parliament holding up a sign that read, ‘Skolstrejkförklimatet,’ which means ‘school strike for climate.’ Since then she has been an unstoppable force combatting climate change, from meetings with the Pope, addressing heads of state at the UN, and sparring with the ex-US president, she’s fought the battle to address climate change with brutal Gen Z honesty and savagery. 

In 2019, Thunberg sailed across the Atlantic to address the UN at their climate change conference in New York, and she unflinchingly delivered one of her most famous speeches where she angrily told world leaders that they were not doing nearly enough for climate change, "You all come to us young people for hope. How dare you? You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words," she said.

This is just one of the many examples of Greta Thunberg standing up for her beliefs, climate change and making sure the world knows that they’re to blame for the climate crisis. She also includes her signature brand of humour to publically and virtually make her point.

Informing the world of Andrew Tates' "small dick energy"

Her most recent encounter with self-appointed misogynist Andrew Tate has taken the internet by storm, their brief Twitter exchange, where Andrew Tate tagged Greta Thunberg in a post about his car collection and their respective emissions had Greta shutting him down like a pro. Her response to him being, ‘yes, please do enlighten me. email me at smalldickenergy@getalife.com’

Telling people to stop messing around when it comes to climate change

A true climate activist, Greta also enjoys recycling past criticism used against her. One such example is her calling out Trump a year after he had tweeted: “She seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see.” Her tweet commented on a picture of Trump boarding a helicopter to leave the White House and it read, ‘He seems like a very happy old man looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see.’

Not one to shy away from confrontation, Greta Thunberg uses patented Gen Z humour to constantly call out people, organisations and more, on social media. Just last month her scathing response to Sky News had everyone in splits. Referencing a book by climate scientist Dr Shanna Swan, Sky news reported, ‘that humanity is supposedly facing an “existential crisis”, with pollution causing a “growing number” of babies to be born with small penises.’ To which Greta Thunberg's winning response was, ‘See you all at the next climate change strike :)’

Trolling Trump and putting Vladimir Putin in his place

Thunberg has also fearlessly taken on American ex-President, Donald Trump and Russian president, Vladimir Putin. After she was awarded the Time’s magazine person of the year title, Trump tweeted, ‘So ridiculous. Greta must work on her Anger Management problem, then go to a good old-fashioned movie with a friend! Chill Greta, chill!’ Greta responded by promptly changing her Twitter bio to, ‘A teenager working on her anger management problem. Currently chilling and watching a good old-fashioned movie with a friend.’

In a similar encounter with Putin, he referred to Greta Thunberg as ‘a kind and very sincere girl’, and someone who was ‘poorly informed’. She went on to change her bio again to read as ‘A kind but poorly informed teenager.’

Greta Thunberg has spent the last four years, savagely taking down powerful names, elegantly putting people in their place and doing it with a good dose of humour all while fighting to protect the world from an imminent climate crisis. More power to her for keeping her audiences informed and entertained as she does what the rest of the world is too scared to.
