Deepak Gupta’s modelling journey proves that good things really do take time

You’ve probably come across the reel of an ambitious, young Indian boy transforming from his lanky self in front of India Gate to strutting down the Louis Vuitton runway. Growing up, Deepak Gupta was told he would never be an LV model, and boy, were they wrong! Let’s get counting. He started at Milan Fashion Week with Emporio Armani SS24 and Stone Island AW24, followed by walking exclusively for Burberry SS24 at London Fashion Week. The 20-year-old Mumbai-based model has also been the face of several Indian and international campaigns over the past few years. Bringing the same energy this season, he made the headlines for his debut at the Louis Vuitton FW25 show, all while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology. Where does this confidence come from? “Confidence is something I actively work on; one of the key areas I focus on is my communication. I strive to understand people better and continually challenge myself by stepping out of my comfort zone. Facing my fears has helped me build confidence over time,” Deepak tells Cosmo.

“Additionally, I consider myself a good listener. I make an effort to truly listen to others, learning valuable lessons from their experiences.”

Deepak's go-to affirmations

  1. You are the best.
  2. You can do it.
  3. The best or nothing.
  4. If you’re dreaming, make sure you dream big.
  5. Stay consistent; results will follow.
  6. Every challenge is an opportunity to grow.
  7. Believe in yourself, and the world will believe in you, too.

As someone in the fashion industry, appearance is perhaps a telling factor—and something Deepak has worked on. “I believe health, both physical and mental, is more important than money. I take care of my physical appearance by working on my body. Looking good on the outside helps me feel great on the inside, further boosting my confidence. And then there is my mental health...when you are mentally strong, nothing can hold you back.”
