How to have hotel sex at home

We’ve all at some point or another come to the conclusion that hotel sex is wayyy better than having sex at home and there is a legit reason for this. When you’re in a hotel room, you tend to be only in the present, disconnecting from everything that stresses you out. No laptops (unless you plan to watch a shitty comedy movie with boo), no Excel sheets, and no last-minute client meetings. It’s just you, your partner, good food and (hopefully) even better sex.

Your mind and body are relaxed—especially, since we naturally associate a hotel stay with being in vacation mode. Your room becomes a cocoon of bliss making it easier for you to focus on the present, which obviously heightens the sensorial experience making sex even sexier! Not to mention, at a hotel, you are less likely to stick to the same three positions and routine you and your partner have perfected. You’re more likely to let your hair down and enjoy every second.

The bottom line is, hotel sex is at the top of the list. Having said that, your bank account may feel a little miffed with you wanting to get it on in a hotel like it’s self-refilling! Fret not, the good news is you don’t need to nearly empty your account checking into hotels every few days. You can recreate that experience at home. Here’s how! 

Get on vacay time

First things first, if you are planning to have a steamy sexcation at home, you need to believe you’re on vacation. Start by pampering yourself and freeing up your schedule. Take a nice long bath that would have you running late for work on any other day. Pour yourself some bubbly and get in a robe. Also, don’t be afraid to be spontaneous. Use your bathroom, your couch or even your kitchen platform. Throw your schedule out the window (in a responsible manner, we’re all adults with adult jobs so probably on a day off) and you’ll see just how much better the I-don’t-have-a-care-in-the-world sex is.

Do the set-up

It won’t feel like hotel sex if the ambience is not right. Take out the best bed linens, blast the AC and keep the clutter away. Nothing kills the sexcation vibe like a big pile of laundry or dirty plates lying around to remind you of the long to-do list. Clean up—it’s not exactly foreplay but do it as prep for all the amazing nastiness that is about to follow. And while you’re at it, you could also light a few candles that remind you’ll of a tropical paradise. Let the aroma transport you to an exotic island!

Cuddle, eat and watch a movie

The beauty of hotel sex extends beyond just the confines of sex. Get into bed, put on a movie, get some crisps and chips, some drinks and cuddle. You can feed each other or lick things off each other. You don’t have to wear clothes or get out of bed at all (unless it’s to use the bathroom, of course). Order some food and completely avoid cooking! In that moment, nothing should stop you from giving your partner undivided attention— sexually and otherwise. 

Dress up

When you do choose to wear clothes—although roaming naked around your partner doing absolutely mundane things is super hot—make sure they give out vacay vibes! Get into a comfy maxi or a sundress and underneath that, you wear the sexiest lingerie you own! If you want to feel like you’re on a staycation, dress (or undress) for it!
