Meet Mont Blanc, the orange-cream coffee taking over your feed

There is always that one coffee that suddenly starts appearing everywhere. You spot it on someone’s Instagram story, then on a cafe menu, and before you know it, you are wondering why your regular iced latte feels a little boring. Right now, that coffee is Mont Blanc. The Melbourne-born drink has been making serious noise in Australia and is now popping up at speciality cafes in India too.

The drink comes from Melbourne cafe Good Measure, where its original version helped kick off the current cold-foam coffee obsession. By 2026, Mont Blanc had become part of a much bigger movement towards dessert-like coffee drinks with elaborate foams and toppings. It looks good, has a fun mix of textures and flavours, and still gives you the caffeine hit you came for. Bonus: it is also exactly the sort of drink that makes you want to click and post a picture of your coffee before taking the first sip!

So, what exactly is a Mont Blanc?

At its simplest, Mont Blanc is cold coffee topped with a silky, flavoured cream. The classic Melbourne version uses lightly sweetened cold brew, orange-scented whipped cream, orange zest, and nutmeg. The Indian versions are already putting their own spin on it, which is where things get interesting.

At Common Time in New Delhi, the Mont Blanc combines its bumble cold brew with vanilla cold foam and orange zest. Its menu describes the bumble cold brew as orange-zest-infused overnight cold brew, so you get that citrus note running through the coffee as well as on top.

At The Drop in Hauz Khas, the version has an ice lungo, orange marmalade, and vanilla cold foam, with bits of orange adding some texture. It has even been singled out as one of the cafe's more inventive coffee drinks.

Where to try the Mont Blanc in India

Bengaluru is having a particularly good Mont Blanc moment. At Project Possible by Beans of Bodhi, the drink is made using a cold-drip technique and has been described by coffee enthusiasts as particularly smooth and not overly sweet. Vanamo in Indiranagar is another Bengaluru spot worth checking out for its speciality coffee programme.

The Mont Blanc trend has travelled well beyond Bengaluru and New Delhi. In Mumbai, Gracias Granny has a Melbourne-style Mont Blanc on its menu, while Cafe Quattro serves a cold brew version with cold cream and fresh orange. Both are good options if your regular iced coffee order needs a little upgrade.

Hyderabad has also joined the Mont Blanc club. True Black Speciality Coffee serves a version made with cold brew, airy cream, and fresh orange zest, while Orangery in Jubilee Hills has its own take on the drink.

So, yes, it’s time for your coffee order to get a little fancy, because between the citrusy cold brew, creamy foam, and slightly dessert-like finish, Mont Blanc might actually deserve the hype.
