Luna Et Sol, Lower Parel

After establishing itself in Goa, Chef Avinash Martins' Janot arrived in Bengaluru this year. It's built around a refreshingly simple idea: no fixed cuisine, just ingredient-led storytelling shaped by Martins' travels and memories. Named after a Portuguese exclamation of delight often used by his grandmother, the menu spans Udaipuri laal maas galouti, Odiya crab kassa, and cocktails like the Kokum & Curry Leaf G&T. It's an immersive, occasion-worthy experience from one of the country's most celebrated chefs. Book it for the night you want the entire evening, not just the food, to feel like an event.

Onrique, Santacruz West

For a date with a breeze and a view, Onrique's rooftop is hard to beat. The lower level features hand-painted murals and a mirrored ceiling, while the floor above opens into a French countryside-inspired garden with panoramic views of the city skyline. The menu moves confidently between Europe and Asia, with mashed pea croquettes, saffron risotto with burrata, and mala-spiced chicken dumplings, backed by live music on weekends and DJ nights through the week.

Nara Thai, Mumbai

First dates need a restaurant that does some of the talking for you, and Nara Thai's new Curry Shop menu gives you plenty to work with. Developed in collaboration between culinary teams in Thailand and India, it draws from regional recipes across both Northern and Southern Thailand. Cafe Lento, Saligao

'Lento' is Portuguese for 'slow', and this Goa café takes the name seriously. Created by restaurateur Dishant Pritamani and designer Ayaz Busrai, the space is designed to feel like a ruin reclaimed by nature, with creepers cultivated over two monsoons, repurposed windows and tiles, and a lush garden surrounding every table. Public Supply, Hauz Khas

Public Supply doesn't try to be a "date spot" in the traditional sense, and that's exactly its appeal. Founded by first-time restaurateur Aayush Gulati, this Hauz Khas café treats wellness as something to enjoy rather than restrict. A green smoothie and a cream cheese cinnamon roll get equal billing on the menu. Naad Coffee, Hyderabad
