This Insane Invention Basically CASTRATES Rapists!

"If only I had teeth down there..." a rape victim once said to Sonette Ehlers of South Africa, and she took that thought very seriously. South Africa has been deemed the rape capital of the world—and edging toward a possible solution to this endemic, Sonette invented a prototype of an anti-rape device, called RapeX.

The device functions like a female condom, with 'teeth' (spikes)  lining the inside of it. The way the teeth are angled, they allow penetration, lulling the rapist into thinking everything's fine. But the second he pulls out, it bites the man with the strength of a shark. In fact, Sonette tells us, "the device will need to be surgically removed at a hospital, which will lead to the capture of the rapist."

Sonette explained the motive behind creating something like RapeX. "Nothing has ever been done to help a woman so that she does not get raped and I thought it was high time," elaborating on the way it functions, playing off of his ignorance.  "He will obviously be too preoccupied at this stage," she tells the media. "If he tries to remove it, it will clasp even tighter ... however, it doesn't break the skin, and there's no danger of fluid exposure."

The device also cuts down the possibility that the woman will contract an STD, AIDS, or even get pregnant from the rape.

So when does the woman keep one on? All the time? "The ideal situation would be for a woman to wear this when she's going out on some kind of blind date ... or to an area she's not comfortable with," Ehlers said.
