The pandemic has allowed many of us to turn inwards and truly introspect. From choosing sustainable modes of living to reducing our carbon footprint, most of us utilised the crisis to change how we wanted to write our legacy.
So, we caught up with Reebok brand ambassador Katrina Kaif for the Write Your Legacy campaign with the aim: You can’t change what came before you, but you can change what comes next.
Cosmo: Please share a defining moment in your life or career that pushes you to write your legacy even during dark times?
Katrina Kaif: I don’t particularly approach my life with the idea of “dark or happy times”. Every person has their share of concerns and situations to deal with, which you eventually learn from. But the moment when I saw my dream of starting an institution, starting a brand- Kay Beauty that empowers women to come into reality, was when I felt that I was headed in the right direction to let all the women know that self-acceptance is the most important thing.
Cosmo: Please share 5 New Year Resolutions for 2021 that you are very focused about keeping till the end.
KK: A few beliefs I follow for a while now is affirmations, in 2021 I plan to continue following them. To stay optimistic and positive no matter the situation I am in to attract only good energies. To priorities my family’s health and mine. To be a risk-taker and push my creative boundaries. I want to stay physically fit because it has a positive effect on your mental health.
Cosmo: What are the 3 ways you wish to be remembered/'Write Your Legacy' when it comes to sustainability and giving back to the community?
KK: I have multiple wishes of how I would like my legacy to be. I believe legacy need not necessarily be about traditions, wealth or anything big but can be of beliefs. Beliefs of being courageous at all times and not being afraid of taking the unknown path. To create an institution through a beauty brand that empowers and celebrates every unique woman. And most importantly, to be grateful and contribute to the society in every possible way.
