The Secret Stuff Ruining Your Skin

It’s official, pollution is screwing your skin—big time! A recent study carried out by the scientists at Olay proves that there is a direct correlation between air pollution and skin damage. They conducted
experiments in the least and most populated districts of Beijing, China, and found that the more air-polluted an area, the more dehydrated the skin. More bad news: the study found that air pollution doesn’t just deplete your skin of moisture, it can also cause damage to the skin barrier, increase pigmentation, and cause sensitivity.

And while levels of air pollution in areas of North America and Europe have been declining, they’re increasing rapidly in Asia. According to Procter & Gamble Beauty Expert Dr Nina Madnani, “Air pollution in India is a serious problem. The pollutants in the air negatively affect skin health and functioning, showing signs of ageing at an early age.” So how do we stop it?

Nina recommends using the “Olay Total Effects Foaming Cleanser to remove any harmful particles, and Olay Total Effects Day and Night Cream to tackle the dryness”. Bottom line: protecting your skin is
key, she adds.

Here's how you can get gorg skin in three quick steps!

1. Always use sunscreen.

“It can’t be said enough! Always, always use sunscreen. Even a moisturiser with SPF 15 will provide protection to your skin. And remember: you need it even when it’s not sunny outside.”

2. Cleansing works

“When you’ve been out 12 hours, cleansing for five seconds isn’t enough. Pay close attention to your cleansing routine. Spend a little more time for better results and clearer skin.”

3. Precaution is best

“I recommend products with Niacinamide; Olay’s products have this antioxidant. It keeps the skin hydrated and strengthens the barrier. The results are fabulous!”
