Ways to Use Aloe Vera, the Ultimate Beauty Essential for Glowing Skin and Gorgeous Hair

Aloe vera was an integral part of ancient beauty rituals. Cleopatra is believed to have used it to keep her skin supple and glowing. And Bollywood actors including Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone and Sonakshi Sinha have often spoken about including aloe vera in their beauty regime. There’s a reason why it has stood the test of time, it works. “Aloe vera has several health benefits. It’s effective against a number of skin and hair problems,” says Blossom Kochhar, Founder of Blossom Kochhar Aroma Magic. She lists out ways it can be used to treat skin and hair woes.

Use it to treat sunburn

"Aloe Vera helps curing sunburns, in fact, it’s good for any kind of skin rash. It can instantly soothe the skin," says Blossom. Aloe vera has anti-inflammatory properties and contains minerals and antioxidants that expedite the healing process. To get rid of a stinging sun burn, she suggests you take aloe vera gel, add a drop of lavender oil and apply it all over your skin. It will immediately soothe the skin.

Soothe dry skin

Aloe vera is moisturising and nourishes the skin. "For dry skin take a little aloe vera gel and apply on your skin first and then use a moisturiser. This will hydrate your skin and retain the moisture," adds Blossom.

Moisturise oily skin
If you have oily skin, this is what you need. "Aloe vera will moisturise your skin without making it greasy," says Blossom. It gets easily absorbed by the skin, which means no clogged pores or ugly breakouts.

Soothe skin irritations

Aloe vera's healing and cooling properties make it ideal for treating any kind of rash or stinging skin. "Especially after threading or waxing apply aloe vera to soothe the skin," suggests Blossom.

Condition your hair

In the current situation, if you are suffering from hair loss, it's best to stay away from any conditioner that contains chemicals. Alternatively, "apply aloe vera on your hair after a shampoo and rinse it. It will moisturise and condition your hair," advises Blossom.

To get an instant glow on your face and for shiny and bouncy hair, Blossom recommends the hair and face masks given below.
