This Jewellery-Cleaning Hack is GENIUS

We like wearing sterling silver jewellery as much as the next person; you don't ever really have to take it off, because you're safe in the knowledge you're not going to end up with a green ring around your finger or your neck thanks to the cheap metal.

But silver jewellery still needs cleaning, because after all that wear and tear, it can dull a bit. And no matter how hard you try to polish with a cloth, it never seems to emerge *quite* as sparkling as it once was.

Which is why this new life hack, thanks to the folks over at PureWow, is so darn useful. Because all you need to restore your silver jewellery back to its glistening glory is a squirt of tomato ketchup. Who'd have thought Tommy K would come into his own like this, eh?

Apparently, the acid in the condiment is what cuts through the silver, making it emerge shiny and new. See?

And yeah, if we spent enough time thinking about it, we'd probably get put off having quite so many dollops of ketchup with our McDonald's chips next time. Because if that's what it can do to a bracelet after ten minutes, god only knows what it's doing to the inside of our stomachs.

But let's focus on the task at hand, here. Cleaning your jewellery. And tomato ketchup does it bloody well. So there you go, that's one to pass down to your grandkids one day.
