“I got into acting through theatre, when I was in college. In fact, my family and friends were all very surprised that I wanted to be an actor, because I was always so immersed in sports. And so, I began auditioning for films, and trained with veterans Adil Hussain and Dilip Shankar. That’s when I really fell in love with the craft. I am an introvert in real life, but acting gives me a chance to express myself...be the different people I would never have been otherwise. I can’t see myself doing anything else now. Some of my all-time favourite movies include Casablanca, Roman Holiday, Abhimaan, and Dil Chahta Hai. And the one film dialogue that has stayed with me is ‘Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn’ from Gone With The Wind. Other than acting, I love travelling. And food...I am big foodie. Very few people know that I even worked in my parents’ restaurant as a kid. After school, I would spend time in the kitchen, and would have definitely become a chef had I not become an actor!”
