Everything We Know About Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal's Intimate Wedding

Ever since the news around Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif's wedding broke, the internet went into a frenzy. While neither star has confirmed the speculations, fans are convinced that the rumoured lovebirds will be tying the knot on 9th December at the palatial Six Senses Fort Barwara in Rajasthan. And, in the days leading up to the wedding, several pictures—including the supposed invitation card—have been doing the rounds on social media.

While we cannot verify all the information about the couple's big Bollywood celebration, here's what we know so far.

It all began in 2018 when Katrina Kaif appeared on the sixth season of Koffee With Karan, alongside Varun Dhawan. When asked who she'd like to work with next, Vicky won the topmost position on her list. A few episodes later, when Karan asked Vicky for his reaction to her comment, he pretended to faint with excitement. While we're uncertain whether this ice-breaker spurred love between the two A-listers, it was post the show that they were spotted together at award functions and other industry events.

The Wedding Venue

According to reports, Six Senses Fort Barwara in Rajasthan will serve as the couple's luxurious wedding destination. The regal property is a 14th-century fort—originally owned by a Rajasthani royal family—that has been converted into a hotel that boasts exquisite suites, lush, sprawling lawns, and beautiful venue spaces such as the Barwara State Room and the Zenana Mahal.

The entire property has been booked out for the celebrity ceremonies, and reports also suggest that Katrina and Vicky will be taking their pheras in a glass-walled gazebo at one of the sites. Tight security has been stationed at all entry and exit points to secure the location and avoid media chaos.

A Pre-Wedding Function in Mumbai

On 6th December, the pre-wedding festivities were kicked off at the actors' residences. Reportedly, the couple had a court marriage at Vicky's house, in the presence of their family members, including Katrina's mother Suzanne Turquotte and sister Isabelle Kaif. For the hush-hush ceremony, Katrina was spotted wearing an Arpita Mehta 'Mother of Pearl' tiered and ruffled sari, with a lavender and gold hand-embroidered blouse and cowrie shell detailing. She paired the outfit with 'Jalsa' bead, tassel block heels by Aprajita Toor.

For the pre-wedding festivities, Katrina was also spotted in an Anamika Khanna ensemble.

The Limited Guest List

Yesterday, the paps spotted a few stars at the Jaipur airport, who had assumably arrived for the #VicKat wedding. From Kabir Khan and Mini Mathur to Angad Bedi, Neha Dhupia, Radhika Madan, Shankar Mahadevan, and Gurdas Maan, several actors, directors and singers were snapped, suitcase-laden, at the airport. While it has not yet been confirmed, a few more celebrities seemed to have made it to the 120-people guest list; including Karan Johar, Sidharth Malhotra, Kiara Advani, Varun Dhawan, Shah Rukh Khan, Farah Khan, Ali Abbas Zafar, Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan, and Anushka Sharma.

The 3-Day Affair

Reportedly, the celebrations will kick off with a sangeet function on the night of 7th December followed by an outdoor mehendi and high-tea event on 8th December. The wedding ceremony will be held the next day, following both the Hindu and western rituals. According to reports, the actor will be performing on her famous song 'Teri Ore' from the movie Singh is Kinng (2008) during one of the events. It has also been revealed that the couple has requested a *no-phone zone* across the three days, with no pictures or videos to be released on social media. Rumours also suggest that the couple have been offered a hefty sum by an OTT platform for their exclusive wedding footage (unverified information).

The Wedding Wardrobe

Designer Anaita Shroff Adajania will be styling the bride-to-be for the various functions across the three days. The star is expected to don Falguni and Shane Peacock and Sabyasachi silhouettes for her ceremonies (several outfits from Falguni and Shane Peacock were seen arriving at Katrina's residence days before the wedding). Reports suggest that she will be wearing a pastel green bridal lehenga on the big day, although this information hasn't been verified. An ivory and gold sherwani was also seen making its way to Vicky Kaushal's residence days before the wedding, said to be a Kunal Rawal creation.

What Next?

Pinkvilla reported that the couple will jet off to the Maldives for their honeymoon. However, this seems unlikely due to the stars' professional commitments. Vicky Kaushal is said to be joining Sara Ali Khan post the wedding for his next project while Katrina will be busy with the making of Tiger 3 and Sriram Raghavan’s directorial alongside Vijay Sethupathi. "Both Vicky and Katrina are committed to completing their films on time so there won’t be a honeymoon right after the wedding. Katrina will be back on her film set after the wedding," a source revealed.
