The Reign of RiRi: Rihanna Named America’s Youngest Self-Made Billionaire

If I may state the obvious, Rihanna is proof that hard work, passion, and determination are the main ingredients of success. The 34-year-old multi-hyphenate was not born with a silver spoon in her mouth. She has worked tirelessly for everything she has achieved. And today, with a net worth of $1.4 billion, Rihanna is America’s youngest self-made billionaire!

The 9-time Grammy Awardee and CEO of Fenty Beauty ranked 21st on Forbes’ annual list of America’s richest self-made women. Rihanna is the only billionaire on this list below the age of 40 and has appeared on this list for the third year in a row.

Rihanna’s fortune does not only come from her super successful music career. Most of it comes from her three retail companies - Fenty Beauty, Fenty Skin and Savage X Fenty. She owns 50% of Fenty Beauty and 30% of Savage X Fenty. According to Forbes, Fenty Beauty generated more than $550 million in revenue in 2020.

However, in 2019, the new mommy told the ‘T (New York Times Style Magazine) that her money wasn’t for her. She said, “The money means that I can take care of my family. The money means that I can facilitate the businesses that I want to. I can create jobs for other people. My money is not for me; it’s always the thought that I can help someone else.” In 2012, Rihanna launched the Clara Lionel Foundation which helps provide better education and health care for children in underprivileged communities.

Selfless and fierce, it’s no surprise she is on top of her game.
