Ananya Panday makes a strong case for why we need our hype girls in life

Ananya Panday, Sara Ali Khan, and Janhvi Kapoor are three actors who’ve always been spotted together be it sweating it out at the gym or sharing the Koffee couch—the three have always had the best things to say about each other. Yet somehow, the narrative around these young actresses only focuses on competition. 

 

The Kho Gaye Hum Kahan actor recently opened up about how female actors are constantly pitted against each other, which demonstrates a powerful message about female friendships. Panday spoke about the importance of celebrating each other’s success and how she finds strength in her contemporaries like Kapoor and Khan.

Female dynamics in Bollywood

In an interview, Panday discussed how the public is responsible for pitting female actors against each other. She went on to talk about how the relationships between actors are overly sensationalized when in reality, most of her friends in the industry are women who are very supportive of each other.

She then spoke about Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan being the first ones to show their support whenever her film or song comes out, and how they always attend her movie screenings and vice versa.

Competition between actresses 

The Liger actress spoke about her contemporaries and how their work inspires her to work harder. She praised Kapoor for her work in Mili and Khan for her performance in Atrangi Re. “I like appreciating people when they do good work. I’m not ashamed of that. If I watch something starring my contemporaries and if it strikes a chord with me and inspires me, I feel the need to tell them that, I don’t have any shame in telling people that I would love to work with them,” says Kapoor.

She believes in celebrating good work, because let’s be real, who doesn’t love a confidence boost from your girlfriends?
