She also sheepishly lets us in on a dirty little secret from her childhood. “I had an unhealthy obsession with glittery nail paints. You remember the ones that were totally clear with shiny silver bits or little golden stars floating in midair? It was all I wanted in life!”

Now, though, what she wants more than anything is to have her own home. “I want to own— not rent—a fabulous duplex, and the maps and decor ideas are already flying around in my head. I live alone and I always make my space exactly suitable for me,” she says. For instance, she tells us through giggles, that nobody ever eats when they come to her house because “all you’ll find is, like, fruit and quinoa! If you’re lucky, you might find a Coke Zero on a good day, but I keep nothing in the house—that way, I’m not tempted!” In fact, it’s a running joke that you need to carry your own food to chill at her place. “Or I’ll order in if you’re coming over—but the odds that I’ll have something you’ll eat? Unlikely.”

That very comment verifies what she tells us next. “I don’t do advice. I don’t take it, because if it fails, it’s on someone else. I make my mistakes, but they’re mine—and I can’t pin them on another party. Besides,” she smiles, “I’m a great decision- maker. So, very often, advice doesn’t even come into it. I’m not used to caring about what people think, and factoring their thoughts into my decisions. And you may or may not agree, but I know it’s served me well.”
