Disney is Launching its Own Streaming Service in 2019

Disney has announced that it will be launching it very own streaming service in 2019.

Disney+ will work in a very similar way to Netflix. Simply pay a certain amount a month and get all the GODDAMN Disney movies you can watch!

As well as offering the entire Disney back catalogue, including gems like Snow White, Moana and the greatest Disney film ever made: Basil The Great Mouse Detective, Disney+ will feature the Marvel franchise, Pixar films, ABC content. It also promises to release 25 original series and 10 original films in its first year.

Speaking at an investor day, Disney chief executive, Bob Iger said: “The Disney+ platform is being built on that foundation, one that no other content or technology company can rival.

“We knew the best approach to the market was to create great content and distribute it in innovative ways. It is that simple.

He added: “Netflix now knows what people want more than anybody.”

One such original (although we can’t expect this bad boy until 2020) is a little project, which will bring together all your favourite Disney villains.

Back in February, Production Weekly, tweeted: “Steve Pearlman (Once Upon A Time) and Michael Seitzman (Quantico) are developing DISNEY VILLAINS, for Disney+ the upcoming online video streaming service. Production is slated for the second quarter of 2020 at Ardmore Studios in Dublin, Ireland.”

EXCITING!
