Barack Obama Is Officially a Rock Star Now

Coldplay is really pulling out all the stops for their new album A Head Full of Dreams, at least when it comes to special guests. They announced collaborations with Beyoncé, Tove Lo, and Noel Gallagher earlier this fall, but now they've decided to outdo themselves with help from the president of the United States. In an interview with The Sun (via NME), Chris Martin said that the band will sample President Barack Obama's rendition of "Amazing Grace," sung at the funeral for Reverend Clementa Pinckney this summer. Pinckney was killed in the shooting at Charleston's Mother Emanuel A.M.E. Church along with eight other people.

"We have a tiny clip of the president singing 'Amazing Grace' at that church," Chris Martin said. "Because of the historical significance of what he did and also that song being about, 'I'm lost but now I'm found.'" No word on whether or not Obama will get a "featuring" credit à la Blue Ivy on that Jay Z song "Glory," but either way, this should cement his reputation as the coolest president since Bill Pullman in Independence Day.
