Cara Delevingne Just Opened Up About Battling Depression…

The cool AF Cara Delevingne recently took to Twitter to clarify reports that she quit modeling because it made her "unhappy and unwell". Reports that Cara is in depression started making the rounds last year when in an interview with Rupert Everett at the Women In The World conference, the model extraordinaire said, "I think I pushed myself so far that I got to the point where I had a mental breakdown. I got to the point where I went a bit mad. I was completely suicidal, I didn't want to live any more. I thought that I was completely alone. I also realised how lucky I was, and what a wonderful family and wonderful friends I had, but that didn't matter. I wanted the world to swallow me up." Cara added, "In our culture we are told that if we are beautiful, if we are skinny, if we are successful, famous, if we fit in, if everyone loves us, that we'll be happy. But that's not entirely true."

And just recently, the model, in a series of tweets, talked about depression. Though she has now deleted the tweets, we managed to get the screenshots right before they were.

Have a look:

In the past, many celebrities, including our very own Deepika Padukone have spoken about depression. And with celebrities talking about it openly, it'll help us avoid shaming people and understand their condition. As for Cara, we hope that she conquers the same and becomes a role model for people!
