The newest celebrity couple in Bollywood that nobody can help talking about is the Brahmastra lead pair, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. Not only did Ranbir confirm the speculation around the rumours hinting of an alleged relationship between the two, in his interview with a leading men's magazine, but there have now been several instances on social media where Alia too has hinted of a cosy connection with her self-confessed crush ever since teenage.
Looks like these two were meant to come together in real life, considering how they never shied away from talking fondly about each other on various public occasions. And Brahmastra, helmed by filmmaker Ayan Mukerji is the project which set off the sparks. But did you know, this isn't the first film that Ranbir and Alia could have starred in together? At least, that's what it seems like to many people.
Apparently, Alia Bhatt had auditioned for Wake Up Sid!, another Bollywood flick that released in 2009 and worked wonders at the box office under the camaraderie of Ranbir and Ayan. A young, adorably chubby Alia is seen reading the lines of the film's main female lead (Ayesha), a character which is portrayed by Konkona Sen Sharma in this video which is quite viral.
But, before you try putting two and two together, we are going to burst your bubble. That's because, even though this video is about Alia auditioning, it is not for the film you're thinking. This tape is from her audition for Karan Johar's Student of The Year, where she is reading the lines from Wake Up Sid! which eventually turned out to be her debut Bollywood film. See this video to believe it:
So as much as you would have been excited to think that Alia and Ranbir had a chance to star together in a film ten years ago, looks like it was destined for now, and not any time before.
