 Malaika Arora Shares How Not to Be Stressed and Continue Doing Your Best!

A soul-crushing setback or a moment that changes your life, we all have faced such setbacks in our life and emerged stronger. The key is to learn from life's tough lessons and move on. After all everything does happen for a reason!    

So, we caught up with Reebok brand ambassador Malaika Arora for the Write Your Legacy campaign with the aim: You can’t change what came before you, but you can change what comes next.

Cosmo: What was a defining moment in your life or career that pushed you to write your legacy even during dark times?

Malaika Arora: I am a dancer, have always been one. It's not only something that I have done professionally in the industry but also something I enjoy doing personally as well. It's my stress reliever and a very important aspect of my personality. A few years back, when I sustained a serious injury in my leg while dancing, it shook the ground under my feet. The injury was critical and my fear, real. That’s when I decided that I am not going to give up and accept defeat and that’s exactly when I was introduced to yoga in my life. That was one of the defining moments when I thought that I may not be able to dance again like I used to. The thought of that pushed me to overcome my difficulty and that courage guides me even today in my dark times.

Cosmo: What is the legacy you wish to leave behind when it comes to sustainability and giving back to the community?

MA: The three ways I wish to be remembered would be:

•    Improve the physical and mental health of people by motivating them to take up a fitness activity
•    I recommend people to only use clothes, shoes, accessories and other things that are ethically produced and are not harming any part of the society
•    I want to help people realize that age is just a number, if you want to attain something, you should go for it.

Cosmo: Do you have some New Year Resolutions for 2021 that you are very focused about keeping till the end?

MA: My five New Year Resolutions for 2021 would be:
•    Keeping my mental and physical health positive
•    How to be more sustainable
•    Practicing gratitude
•    Sharing my experience/health tips with people to stay fit (in whatever little capacity I can)
•    Most importantly, to learn new things from amazing and inspiring people around me- my friends, family, fans... everyone
