You spent a good hour tweaking those insta-worthy photos on your mobile phone. But where is your phone? Are you entering panic mode as we speak? Trust me we have all been there sometime or the other. But here is one unlikely place you can locate your 'Lost and Found' items!
The 4th Edition of the 'Uber Lost and Found Index 2020' has revealed a strange list of items that people often tend to forget in the backseat of cabs. From clothes to mangoes, and even artificial acrylic teeth, you're in for a surprise. The index is a snapshot of the most frequently forgotten items, the most forgetful cities, as well as the days of the week and times of the year Uber riders tend to report items 'as lost' in India. Wondering if you're in the most forgetful city? Well, if you are in Mumbai or Kolkata, you certainly are. Mumbai, Kolkata and Prayagraj rank at the top of the list, followed by Delhi, Bangalore, Kanpur, Mangalore, Agra, Varanasi, Pune, and so on. Moreover, you will find yourself being the most forgetful in the months between June to August, on Thursday's and Friday's, around 1pm to 3pm. Keep your bag, wallet, headphones, water bottle, keys, umbrella, along with some more bizarre items such as kitchen pans, AC remote, safari suit, brooms and teddy bear, in check. Oh, and mustn't we forget the rose, balloons, and 'Becoming' - A book by Michelle Obama which also sits on top of the list.
However, Uber has taken on an initiative to educate riders in a fun yet informative manner about the in-app options available to them at the tap of a button, in the unfortunate case of forgetting an item.
Here’s a quick guide for forgetful riders:
· Tap on the “Menu” icon.
· Tap on “Your Trips” and select the trip where you left something.
· Tap on “Report an issue with this trip”.
· Tap on “I lost an item”.
· Tap on “Contact my driver about a lost item”.
· Scroll down and enter the phone number you would like to be contacted at. Tap submit.
· If you lost your own phone, enter a friend’s phone number instead.
· Your phone will ring and connect you directly with your driver’s mobile number.
· If your driver picks up and confirms that your item has been found, coordinate a mutually convenient time and place to meet for its return to you.
· If you are unable to connect with the driver, use ‘in-app support’ to report the loss, and Uber Support Team will step in to help you.
So the next time you forget to remember to not forget, you'll know where to look.
