Beyoncé and Jay-Z just purchased the most expensive home ever sold in California

According to real estate sources who spilt all the tea to TMZ, Bey and Jay paid *pause for dramatic effect* a whopping $200 million (₹16,56,89,80,000) for the property, making it the most expensive home ever sold in the state of California. Previously, that moniker actually belonged to a property worth $177 million, so yeah, they broke the record and then some. Even so, the house was initially listed for a jaw-dropping $295 million, so they actually scored a deal!

Reportedly, the purchase is also the second most expensive real estate deal in the country, with the #1 spot belonging to a $238 million penthouse in Central Park Tower in New York City, according to TMZ.

More stats about the couple's new pad (other than the fact that it's ridiculously pricey)? It sits on an eight-acre bluff that overlooks the Pacific Ocean in the Paradise Cove area also known as Billionaires' Row...for obvious reasons. It was designed by architect Tadao Ando, who may be a familiar name since he also designed the Malibu home that Kanye West bought for $57.3 million last year. Similar to Beyoncé and Jay-Z's home, Kanye's place also has tons of beach frontage though it sits right on a highway, while Bey and Jay's is gated and has eight acres of space.

The Malibu home is one of Beyoncé and Jay-Z's biggest real estate purchases in the Los Angeles area, the other being a Bel-Air mansion they purchased for $88 million back in 2017. Seems like Beyoncé will have a *chef's kiss* pick of the litter when it comes to where she chooses to get R&R post-Renaissance tour.
