Forget Diamonds, This Woman Got an Engagement Ring Made From Her Fiancé's Wisdom Tooth

Are teeth the new diamonds? (Oh, I really hope not.) For one woman, they absolutely are. Buzzfeed reports Carlee Alisan Leifkes got engaged but didn't get the traditional kind of ring—instead, she got one made from her beloved's wisdom tooth.

Leifkes share a photo of the unconventional ring from fiancé Lucas Mancoon-Unger on Facebook.

"So incredibly excited to marry my best friend, the man who knows that his wisdom tooth means more to me than a diamond," she wrote. "We have never been the'traditional couple,' why the heck start now?" Good point!

When asked about the ring, Leifkes told Buzzfeed she and Mancoon-Unger talked about engagement rings but she didn't want anything diamond. "Diamonds are so overrated," she said. "I don't need one to prove how much someone loves me."

So the couple went hardcore DIY and got a jeweler to help them with a tooth Mancoon-Unger's father sent them. (Oh to be a fly on the wall for that conversation: Hi Dad, can you send me one of my old teeth?)

The jeweler made some magic happen but Leifkes didn't get to see the end result until he popped the question. They're planning an Elvis wedding this month in Las Vegas and you know it will be amazing.

The couple already has an especially sweet and romantic story—they met while she was visiting Canada for a music festival and fell instantly in love. "I thank you for helping me find that fun, wild, careless side of myself while also taking care of me when I'm down, and sick with a broken leg," Liefkes said about him. "You truly are my better half and my best friend."

"Can't wait to be a weirdo with you and dance our way through life to Thee Oh Sees and Black Sabbath," Leifkes said. And now my heart is melting—and also warming up to the idea of a tooth ring. (Seriously,  Pinterest, where is your "tooth engagement ring" page already?)
