Running out of space on your iPhone is an absolute nightmare, especially when you're taking photos and suddenly the dreaded 'there is not enough available storage' message pops up.
However Reddit user 'eavesdroppingyou' shared one very strange way of getting more space - renting a film from iTunes larger than the storage you have available!
Yep, apparently your phone will automatically delete old files you don't need any more to free up the space!
We started off with a miniscule 531MB and ended up with 1.1GB of available storage after attempting to download four different films (they tended to add on about 50MB per film).
So how do you do it?
This trick isn't officially recommended by Apple, however, so if you want to follow proper guidelines you'll need to free space manually. 'If you want to get more space, remove anything you no longer use on your phone,' says Carrie Skinner, tech expert at the Good Housekeeping Institute. 'Get rid of unused apps, videos and music – and if you want to keep them, connect your phone to your computer and save them that way.'
'If you want to free space in your photo album, transfer your pictures from your phone to the Google Photos app, then delete them from your phone so you can still view them, so they've freed needed space.'
