- Sophie Turner opens up about her relationship with Joe Jonas in a new interview.
- She says, "he kind of saved my life, in a way.”
Sophie Turner has been very candid while doing the press rounds lately, talking about the pressure that she felt to lose weight while filming Game of Thrones, and opening up about her depression and mental health struggles.
But, of course, one of the reasons that Sophie has been getting so much media attention lately (besides the fact that it's the final season of Games of Thrones and all) is her relationship with Joe Jonas. The two got married by an Elvis impersonator in Las Vegas earlier this month (#goals) and are generally v adorable together.
In a new interview, Sophie opens up about how important her relationship with Joe is for her mental health. She tells The Sunday Times that when they first met, “I was going through this phase of being very mentally unwell...He was, like, ‘I can’t be with you until you love yourself, I can’t see you love me more than you love yourself.’ That was something, him doing that. I think he kind of saved my life, in a way.”
She also shares that the pair actually broke up once, but it was only for a day. “It was the worst day of our lives,” she says. “For a second we both had cold feet, then 24 hours later we were both, like, ‘Never mind.’"
And this isn't the first time that Sophie has gotten this candid about their relationship. In an interview earlier this month she talked about Joe, saying, “When someone tells you they love you every day, it makes you really think about why that is, and I think that makes you love yourself a bit more. So yeah, I love myself.” Aw!
