Off Campus getting renewed for season 2 is probably the least surprising news on the internet this week because have you seen the chokehold this show has on BookTok, hockey romance girlies, and people who suddenly think fake dating is the only way they'll land a real romance? After season 1 turned Hannah and Garrett into everyone’s newest obsession, the Briar University universe is officially expanding, and yes, the drama is only just getting started.
Season 1 gave us all the things fans wanted from Elle Kennedy’s The Deal. The tension, the locker room chaos, and of course, the emotional trauma disguised as flirting. It felt nostalgic in that early 2010s romance way, but still very Gen Z coded. And now the series is doing exactly what readers hoped it would do by moving on to the next couple, much like Bridgerton but with more hockey sticks!
Dean and Allie's main character era
The makers have confirmed that Off Campus season 2 will focus on Dean Di Laurentis and Allie Hayes, played by Stephen Kalyn and Mika Abdalla, respectively. Fans already got to witness their chemistry in season 1. Remember their epic dance scene (cue JLo's 'On the Floor')? That was enough for the internet to spiral.
If the show follows the books closely, season 2 will likely pull heavily from The Score, which means you can expect a very chaotic "opposites attract" storyline.
Dean starts off as the confident, unserious flirt of the hockey squad, while Allie is trying to navigate heartbreak and figure herself out. The result: things are going to get hot and complicated. Readers already know their dynamic is funnier, hotter, and way messier than Garrett and Hannah’s slow-burn romance, and can't wait to watch it unfold on screen
Going in a completely different direction from season 1, season 2 will lean more into messy feelings, blurred friendship lines, commitment panic, and the kind of tension that makes you pause the episode and stare into the void for a minute. And with the series becoming one of Prime Video’s biggest recent debuts, the stakes are officially very high.
Hannah and Garrett are not disappearing
Before you spiral into panic mode, no, your favourite fake-dating couple is not leaving the show. Ella Bright and Belmont Cameli are expected to stay part of the ensemble cast, which means we’ll probably still get cute relationship moments, friendship scenes, and Garrett continuing to be the world’s best boyfriend.
The makers have already hinted that Off Campus wants to keep the wider friend group connected instead of fully resetting every season. There’s also a very high chance the series starts teasing future couples early, just like the books, which we got to see in the first season, too.
So, when is season 2 coming? That part is still a mystery. Most reports suggest fans may have to wait until 2027 before returning to Briar U. Until then, everyone can simply continue rewatching Garrett fall for Hannah, screaming over Dean’s smirks, and pretending hockey games are this attractive in real life.
