Ever hear people talking about the millennial or Gen X generation and feel like you just don't fit in? Like you can sort of relate to some of the traits but then, not really? Well don't lose heart because you just might be a Xennial.

Xennial is the term that has been coined for the micro generation born between 1977 and 1985. The term was invented in 2014 and has recently gained a lot of popularity on social media. Merriam-Webster has even proclaimed it to be a word to watch.

So what makes you a Xennial? Well, if you are nostalgic about the New Kids on the Block, mix tapes and flip phones, you are probably one of them.Here are some of their key traits.

  • Xennials aren't quite as cynical as the stereotypical Gen-x or as optimistic as the bright eyed Millennials.
  • They experienced an analogue childhood and a digital adulthood.
