Barbie Is Showing Young Girls That They Can Dream Big and We’re Here For It

Remember playtime as a young girl? You would get out all your toys; the stuffed ones, the kitchen sets, the cars, and the most important of all — your Barbie. You would imagine yourself as her sometimes doing things that you would want to do or be — like going to office, cooking in a restaurant, teaching in a school, being a doctor and more. Remember role playing? Well, Barbie has helped thousands of other young girls just like you imagine anything they wanted to be.

In our childhood, many of us were instructed as to how or what we should be or shouldn’t. But with Barbie, we had the freedom to imagine and create our own world, without having to hear that our dream was impossible. For a girl, playing with Barbie is like playing out her own ambitions, which when supported correctly, can form the foundation for a bright future. As an effort to work closer to set this foundation, Barbie in their latest campaign picked three young girls — who dream of being a comedian, a chef, and a gymnast who were paired with their respective role models to mentor them. By meeting their mentors, these young girls had a fun day filled with learning and confidence building with the opportunity to live out their dream.

The local campaign for the brand carries forward the message of Barbie’s global campaign, Imagine The Possibilities. The underlying thought being, when we nurture girls from a young age, without confining them to stereotypical boxes, we help in unlocking their limitless potential to become world leaders and change makers. They need all the encouragement they can get, and Barbie is doing its bit. As they say, ‘When a girl plays with a Barbie, she imagines everything she can become.’
